12 Sep Increase in Out-of-Pocket Maximums
The IRS has announced an increase in out-of-pocket maximums for high deductible health care plans. Out-of-pocket maximum includes deductibles, co-payments, and other expenditures, but does not include plan premiums. The new limit is $6450 for an individual and $12,900 for a family. This is an increase of $100 forĀ an individual, and $200 for a family.
Employees may want to take this increase into consideration as they are planning their health savings account contributions. The maximum contribution to HSA’s has increased by $50 for an individual and $100 for a family.
